Hello Bounty Hunter metal detector fans! In my last post I talked about the many Bounty Hunter metal detectors that are compatible with the the Fisher F2 and F4 metal detector coils.
So lets dive right into the Bounty Hunter fun!
Why upgrade your perfectly good Bounty Hunter metal detector to a different coil?
There are a couple of answers:
First is if you upgrade to an 11" DD coil you will get added depth, better target separation and enhanced performance in heavily mineralized soils. Not to mention the ability to cover more ground faster and in metal detecting, the more ground you cover, the more targets you can recover and the more targets you recover the more chances that you will find valuables. Basically, what it boils down to is that metal detecting is a numbers game
Secondly just like shop tools there is the right tool for every job in metal detecting. For example, you are hunting a very trashy park and with every pass or swing of your Bounty Hunter or any other brand of metal detector for that matter your metal detector is beeping and chirping like a flock starlings.
Chances are that big 8" or 10" coil mounted on your beloved Bounty Hunter is doing you more harm than good. Switch to the 4" or 5" sniper coil and you'll cut half of the trashy targets down. How? It's simple really, the 4" or 5" coil has a smaller footprint than the 8" or 10" coils thus there is less trash under the coil at any given time. Now therein lies the down side too, with a smaller footprint, naturally you are going to cover less ground. It's a give and take situation and personally I'd rather cover less ground than leave a site because it was "un-searchable" with the 8" or 10" coils.
Other things to think about with the 4" or 5" sniper coil mounted on your Bounty Hunter is that it will allow you to get into tighter spaces like bushes, corners etc. A big plus about the 4" or 5" sniper coil is that the small coil is the most sensitive Bounty Hunter coil when it comes to small gold. By small gold I mean thin gold necklaces, bracelets and even tiny earring studs.

When purchasing these coils remember this, I say again REMEMBER THIS, be sure you buy the old first generation F5, GoldBug and GoldBug Pro coils with the plug-in style connectors and not the newer screw-in connectors.
